DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOY
The motto of the Department of Microbiology is to provide inclusive scientific instruction to students about medical microbiology and the infectious diseases. Microbiology is included as an individual subject in both the undergraduate and post graduate courses. The department of Microbiology of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College is located in the northern part of the first floor and occupying almost half of the same floor of the college building. It is an independent full-fledged department with all the up-to-date resources and services.
The department has two sections namely the academic and the laboratory section. The academic section is the integral part of the undergraduate MBBS course and postgraduate M.Phil (Microbiology), other M.Phil MD MS discipline as per Bangladesh Medical AND Dental Council (Government regulatory agency) approved course curriculum. The laboratory part is complementary to the academic activities like practical demonstration and research work. This section is basically concern with different microbiological investigation of indoor and outdoor patients of the linked hospital
